	RIVERS INLET is well known for the best Salmon and Halibut fishing in the world. The world's largest Salmon (127 lbs.) was caught in the Rivers Inlet area and also Halibut more than 150 lbs. A guest from Big Spring caught a 132 lb. Halibut with a standard Salmon mooching rod and reel some years ago. In 2007 a new record was made by a Big Spring guest with a 143 lbs Halibut Almost every year the largest Salmon is caught in Rivers Inlet - this year a 85lbs only a short distance away from Big Spring Resort!
With our 'Rivers Inlet / Hakai Pass Sportsfishing Association' we have our own private Hatchery and provide every year hundreds of thousands of Salmon into the waters of Rivers Inlet!

	Statistics from recent years show almost 5-7 salmon caught per person, and many of our guests catch their limit (8 salmon) in just a few days with Chinooks (Kings) up to 80+ lbs., and Coho's (Silvers) up to 25 lbs. Every year we have more than 100 TYEE'S (Chinooks over 30 lbs.) caught by our guests. If you prefer bottom fishing, we'll show you the good spots and provide the right equipment - rods, reels and harpoons. And the best - all great fishing spots are only minutes away from our resort!
